Ooredoo Qatar Expands IoT Connectivity With New eSIM Solution

Ooredoo Qatar has launched a new eSIM solution for Internet of Things (IoT) devices, designed to help enterprises simplify device management, enhance security, and scale operations across borders.

Built as a flexible alternative to traditional SIM cards, the solution enables QR code-based activation and remote provisioning, removing the need for physical SIM swaps. This allows businesses to deploy connected devices faster while streamlining lifecycle management.

The eSIM offering is tailored for sectors such as Smart Cities, Transportation and Logistics, Healthcare, Oil and Gas, Manufacturing, and Utilities. With multi-network access, devices can switch between networks and roam internationally, making the solution suitable for high-mobility and cross-border environments. The approach also reduces long-term operational costs by limiting reliance on physical SIM inventory.

A key differentiator is its global reach. Using a single eSIM, enterprises can connect to more than 600 networks worldwide, enabling consistent IoT deployments across regions.

Security is embedded at the core of the solution, with protocols aligned to GSMA standards to ensure data integrity and secure device authentication across all endpoints.

Ooredoo also provides a centralised management platform, allowing businesses to monitor usage, control subscriptions, and optimise performance across their entire IoT footprint. Dedicated 24/7 enterprise support ensures continuity and operational confidence.

The launch aligns with Ooredoo’s broader innovation and digital transformation agenda, reinforcing its role as an enterprise connectivity partner and supporting Qatar’s national digital ambitions.

Thani Ali Al-Malki, Chief Business Officer at Ooredoo Qatar, said the solution reflects the evolving needs of modern businesses, enabling customers to reduce complexity, strengthen security, and expand IoT operations with greater control across local and international environments.
