Mastercard announces collaborations in Saudi Arabia and Jordan

A busy start to the week for Mastercard has seen the payments giant unveil major collaborations in both Saudi Arabia and Jordan, strengthening digital payments infrastructure across the region.

In Saudi Arabia, Mastercard has announced a partnership with STC Bank to enable fast, secure, and cost-efficient cross-border transfers. Leveraging Mastercard Move, the company’s global money movement portfolio, STC Bank customers will be able to send funds digitally from Saudi Arabia to more than 120 countries.

The collaboration is designed to meet the growing demand from consumers and businesses for flexible, reliable international payments. Mastercard Move connects over 200 countries and territories across more than 150 currencies, providing access to over 95 percent of the world’s banked population.

Through the platform, banks and non-bank financial institutions can offer end customers greater transparency and control, including trackable payments, visibility of fees, estimated delivery times, certainty on amounts received, and multiple payout options across bank accounts, cards, wallets, and cash.

In Jordan, Mastercard has partnered with Middle East Payment Services (MEPS) to bring Click to Pay to e-commerce merchants via the Mastercard Gateway. The initiative strengthens MEPS’s role within Jordan’s payments ecosystem while expanding access to secure and efficient digital checkout experiences.

Click to Pay offers a password-free, streamlined checkout process designed to make online payments faster and more secure. It integrates directly into merchant checkout flows, using network recognition and EMV 3-D Secure for built-in protection. The solution also leverages Mastercard’s tokenisation technology, replacing sensitive card data with encrypted tokens to safeguard information and improve approval rates.

Available through Merchant Cloud, Mastercard Gateway connects merchants to over 240 acquirers and supports more than 35 payment types worldwide. Through this partnership, MEPS will enable banks, payment service providers, money exchange houses, and fintechs in Jordan to deliver secure and convenient digital and cross-border payment solutions.
