Bangladesh’s Chattogram Port introducing automated system

Bangladesh’s Chattogram Port Authority (CPA) is rolling out an automated system to accelerate and bring greater transparency to export and import operations.

The initiative has been outsourced to Magnetic Tech Limited under a revenue-sharing model. The new system will enable digital entry of export-import data into a central server, streamline delivery order processing, and manage related documentation more efficiently.

Port users have already been briefed on the procedures required under the new system, according to domestic media reports.

CPA officials believe the move will significantly enhance digitalized port operations, reduce processing time, and improve overall efficiency. The automation is also expected to strengthen Chattogram Port’s global standing by aligning it with international best practices in port management.

By modernizing core workflows, the authority aims to improve transparency, reduce manual bottlenecks, and support Bangladesh’s growing trade volumes with a more reliable and future-ready port ecosystem.
