First Abu Dhabi Bank Misr (FABMISR) has launched a new electronic point-of-sale (POS) payment service, strengthening its footprint in Egypt’s fast-growing digital payments ecosystem.
The launch represents a strategic milestone in the bank’s efforts to deliver end-to-end payment solutions nationwide, reinforcing its role as a trusted acquiring partner for both online and in-store merchants.
Designed to offer secure and convenient payment acceptance, the new POS service enables card and contactless transactions while supporting FABMISR’s broader digital transformation agenda. It builds on the success of the bank’s online payment platform, Access by FABMISR, extending the benefits of digital payments from e-commerce into physical retail environments.
Mariam El Samny, Head of Consumer Banking at FABMISR, said the launch aligns with Egypt’s Vision 2030 and the Central Bank of Egypt’s strategy for financial inclusion and sustainable economic development. She noted that the service widens access to secure, efficient, and innovative financial tools for individuals and businesses alike.
Shmais Fakhry, Head of Innovation Service & Acquiring Business at FABMISR, added that the move strengthens the bank’s presence in Egypt’s evolving payments landscape, delivering solutions that meet merchants’ growing needs while supporting national economic growth.
FABMISR’s POS rollout underscores the accelerating shift toward cashless commerce in Egypt, positioning the bank as a key enabler of modern retail and SME digitization across the country.
