Libya’s state mobile company Almadar to launch 5G services soon

Libya’s second-largest state-owned mobile operator, Almadar Aljadid, has announced that it has reached the final technical stages required to launch 5G services, becoming the first national operator in the country to introduce next-generation mobile connectivity.

The company said the move is part of its ongoing efforts to modernise Libya’s telecommunications sector and deliver the latest digital solutions and services to citizens.

Almadar stated that the launch aligns with management directives and the national vision for comprehensive digital transformation, under the personal follow-up and direct supervision of Prime Minister Abdel Hamid Aldabaiba.

The operator added that the introduction of 5G will enable Libyans to access world-class connectivity and strengthen Libya’s position on the global map of modern communications.

The milestone also reflects broader reforms across the sector led by the Libyan Post, Telecommunications and Information Technology Holding Company (LPTIC), as Libya accelerates investment in digital infrastructure and next-generation networks.
