Egyptian ed-tech startup eYouth expands into Iraq

Egyptian ed-tech startup eYouth has expanded into Iraq with the launch of the country’s first Arabic-language digital learning platform focused on labour-market-aligned skills development.

Founded in 2016 and taken online in 2018, eYouth designs and delivers its own training courses to help young people build careers and acquire in-demand skills. The company has grown into a regional ed-tech leader, operating across Saudi Arabia and the UAE and reaching more than 4 million learners in 21 countries.

The Iraq expansion is being executed through a strategic partnership with Al-Majal Group, one of the country’s leading private sector conglomerates. The initiative aims to strengthen workforce readiness by delivering high-quality training programmes aligned with the needs of key economic sectors and the evolving demands of Iraq’s labour market.

The platform will focus on high-demand skills across priority industries, serving Iraqi youth, fresh graduates, and experienced professionals seeking to upskill and remain competitive in a rapidly changing economy. Content will be Arabic-first and developed in line with international quality standards.

“Establishing eYouth Iraq is a strategic step toward building a sustainable talent development ecosystem in the country,” said Mustafa Abd Ellatif, co-founder and CEO of eYouth. “Our goal is to work hand in hand with government institutions and private-sector partners to ensure that education is directly connected to real labour market needs. This platform will empower Iraqi youth with practical, future-ready skills and open new pathways to meaningful employment and active economic participation.”

Ali Agha Jaffar, chairman and CEO of Al-Majal Group, said human capital development is central to Iraq’s long-term growth and economic resilience.

“This partnership with eYouth reflects our commitment to supporting Iraqi youth through accessible, high-quality education that responds to the real needs of employers,” he said. “By collaborating with both public and private stakeholders, we aim to create sustainable value for individuals, businesses, and the national economy.”

The platform is expected to launch in phases throughout 2026, with programmes gradually expanding across multiple sectors and regions within Iraq.
