MobilityOne Limited has announced that its wholly owned Malaysian subsidiary, OneTransfer Remittance Sdn Bhd (OTR), has agreed with bKash Limited to formally commence a mobile money transfer collaboration by 15 February 2026.
The partnership follows the company’s earlier update in September 2025 and will enable OTR to directly disburse remittance funds into bKash e-wallet accounts in real time. Under the agreement, OTR will receive a share of fees generated from remittance transactions credited to bKash users, along with income from foreign exchange services.
The integration allows remittances processed at OTR branches and through its mobile application to be delivered instantly into bKash wallets. Combined with MobilityOne’s own MiPay e-wallet, the service will support wallet-to-wallet remittances for the Bangladesh corridor.
The initiative aligns with MobilityOne’s strategy to digitalise OTR’s services and provide faster, more cost-efficient remittances, particularly for Bangladeshi workers in Malaysia. According to Malaysia’s Ministry of Human Resources, there were approximately 900,000 Bangladeshi permit holders in Malaysia as of mid-2025, representing around 37% of the foreign worker population.
Data from the Central Bank of Malaysia shows that more than 40% of outward remittances in 2024 were completed digitally, underscoring the shift away from cash-based transfers. Through digital innovation and cross-border partnerships such as this, OTR aims to increase its market share by converting more customers to e-remittance services.
While the Group is confident in the long-term prospects of the collaboration, the Board expects any revenue or earnings contribution over the next 12 months to be relatively modest.
