Bittium signs NATO NCIA supply agreement for secure mobile communications and cybersecurity solutions

Bittium has signed a Basic Ordering Agreement with the NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCIA), positioning the company as a preferred supplier of secure mobile communications and cybersecurity solutions to NATO and its member countries. The agreement enables faster and more efficient procurement of Bittium’s approved technologies through a streamlined purchasing framework.

The arrangement supports NATO’s efforts to maintain technological superiority and respond to increasingly complex cyber threats. Under the agreement, NATO members can procure Bittium’s secure mobile devices, software, and accessories based on commercial off-the-shelf solutions, reducing acquisition timelines for critical security capabilities.

Tommi Kangas, Senior Vice President of Bittium’s Defense & Security business segment, said the agreement reinforces Bittium’s role as a trusted supplier of defense and security technologies and strengthens its ability to support NATO in advancing cybersecurity and secure communications across allied nations.

The agreement covers Bittium Tough Mobile smartphones as well as the company’s quantum-safe SafeMove and Secure Call software solutions. These platforms provide encrypted connectivity, secure communications, and centralized device management across Android, iOS, and Windows environments. SafeMove also enables hybrid networking and secure interoperability between tactical networks and commercial 4G and 5G mobile networks.

Bittium’s solutions are currently used by more than 75,000 users worldwide, including defense forces, government agencies, law enforcement bodies, and critical infrastructure operators. NATO-approved devices such as Tough Mobile 2 C and the recently launched Tough Mobile 3 feature dual operating systems that separate personal and professional use, enabling secure workflows without compromising data integrity.
