China, Singapore to deepen cooperation in fighting telecom, online fraud | Macau Business

Chinese State Councilor and Minister of Public Security Wang Xiaohong met with Singapore’s Coordinating Minister for National Security and Minister for Home Affairs, K. Shanmugam, in Beijing to advance bilateral cooperation in law enforcement and security.

During the meeting, Wang emphasized China’s readiness to strengthen mechanisms with Singapore across key areas including drug control, immigration management, and the fight against telecom fraud, online fraud, and broader economic crime. He noted that both countries should pursue practical outcomes that deliver tangible benefits to their people while aligning with the broader strategic consensus established by their heads of state.

Wang added that China views security and law enforcement collaboration with Singapore from a long-term, strategic perspective, with a focus on deepening institutional coordination and operational effectiveness.

Shanmugam welcomed the opportunity to maintain close engagement with China and expressed Singapore’s commitment to expanding practical cooperation in security and law enforcement matters.
