Drivers urged to update app details as smart cameras begin operations

Bahrain’s Interior Ministry has confirmed that the General Directorate of Traffic’s smart camera system is now fully operational and has already recorded multiple violations.

The system is detecting offences such as using a mobile phone while driving and failing to wear a seat belt, following the rollout of the first phase of the project. Authorities said the launch came after ensuring the technical infrastructure was capable of operating efficiently under varying conditions.
