The Refugee Platform in Egypt has launched the Legal Database on Migration and Asylum, an interactive digital resource designed to organise and archive legislation, policies, and official documents related to migration, asylum, and refugee rights in Egypt and across Mediterranean countries.
Developed by the platform’s legal and technical team, the database serves as a reference tool for human rights advocates, researchers, and media professionals by improving access to verified information from original sources.
The first edition includes more than 61 legislative texts and official documents, covering constitutional provisions, national laws, ministerial and regulatory decisions, judicial rulings, executive orders, government strategies, and public policies. It also incorporates international and regional agreements such as the 1951 Refugee Convention and its 1967 Protocol, along with United Nations reports, recommendations, and analytical publications.
The platform offers an interactive search interface that allows users to retrieve original legal texts, conduct comparative analysis between domestic and international frameworks, and examine policy differences between Egypt and other Mediterranean countries. It is also designed to support the construction of legally grounded arguments and the documentation of rights violations using official references.
