Digital Cooperation Organization holds fifth General Assembly in Kuwait to advance inclusive digital growth

The fifth General Assembly of the Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO) is underway in Kuwait City, bringing together ministers, policymakers, international organizations, and private sector leaders to discuss collaboration and strategic priorities for advancing inclusive and sustainable digital transformation across member states.

Held under the theme “Inclusive Prosperity in the Age of AI,” the assembly focuses on strengthening cooperation in the evolving global digital economy while addressing challenges related to equitable digital growth, innovation, and secure digital ecosystems. The event marks a new phase of strategic focus for the organization as it expands engagement across governments, industry, and international institutions.

Representatives from all 16 DCO member states, along with observers, guest countries, and global organizations including the UN, ITU, UNDP, UNCTAD, World Bank, World Economic Forum, International Labour Organization, and Islamic Development Bank, are participating in discussions aimed at shaping policy frameworks and collaborative initiatives for digital development.

The assembly also includes participation from private sector leaders, academia, civil society organizations, and research institutions, reflecting the increasing role of multi-stakeholder partnerships in driving digital economy growth. The DCO’s member states collectively represent nearly $3.5 trillion in GDP and a population of around 800 million people, with a significant youth demographic expected to play a key role in future digital adoption and innovation.
