DUBAI
The UAE has introduced what is described as the country’s first AI-powered clinical intelligence platform across its public healthcare system, aiming to improve clinical efficiency and reduce administrative workload for medical professionals. The platform, known as Amal, was launched by Boston Health AI in partnership with Emirates Health Services during a major health expo in Dubai.
Developed to function as an AI physician assistant, the platform conducts structured medical interviews with patients prior to consultations, supporting interactions in Arabic, English, and Urdu. The system then generates organized summaries of patient histories and symptoms, allowing clinicians to focus more on diagnosis and patient care rather than documentation.
According to the company, the technology is designed to reduce paperwork and cognitive load for healthcare professionals by streamlining data collection and improving workflow efficiency. By preparing structured patient information ahead of appointments, the platform aims to enhance clinical decision-making and optimize consultation time across hospitals and healthcare facilities.
Boston Health AI previously deployed the system in Pakistan, where it has been used across more than 50 healthcare facilities and recorded over 30,000 patient interactions. Insights from these deployments contributed to refining the platform before its rollout in the UAE.
The introduction of AI-driven clinical tools reflects the UAE’s broader push toward digital healthcare transformation, with growing adoption of artificial intelligence solutions aimed at improving operational efficiency, patient experience, and healthcare delivery outcomes across the public sector.
