Virgin Mobile Kuwait launches network-based child safety SIM

Virgin Mobile Kuwait has introduced a new child safety SIM solution designed to provide safer digital access for children through network-level content filtering. Developed in partnership with Kidzonet, the service — branded as Aman by Virgin Mobile — aims to offer families a more reliable alternative to traditional app-based parental control systems.

The Aman SIM operates by screening online content directly at the network level, eliminating the need for parents to install applications or configure device-level controls. The solution is available through two plan options, allowing families to either block social media entirely or enable a safer browsing environment that limits exposure to inappropriate or harmful content.

The SIM can be used across multiple devices, including smartphones, tablets, routers, and other connected devices, ensuring consistent protection regardless of the device being used. Virgin Mobile said the network-based approach allows households to maintain connectivity while creating a controlled digital environment that supports responsible and age-appropriate internet usage.

Company officials noted that the service addresses growing parental concerns around children’s online safety as digital engagement increases. The solution aims to balance access to technology with built-in safeguards that support learning and communication while reducing exposure to online risks.

Virgin Mobile Kuwait also confirmed that the Aman service currently functions only when devices are connected through its cellular network, with separate home safety solutions available for Wi-Fi environments. The company plans to expand the offering across GCC markets during 2026 as part of a phased regional rollout.
