e& announces updated shareholding in global entity Vodafone

ABU DHABI – 22 February 2026: Emirates Telecommunications Group Company (e&) has announced that its shareholding in Vodafone Group plc has increased to 17.0050%, according to a disclosure to the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange.

The updated stake reflects Vodafone’s ongoing share buyback programme, which has reduced its total issued share capital. As a result, e&’s ownership percentage has risen, although the total number of shares it holds remains unchanged at approximately 3.94 billion shares.

e& had previously increased its equity ownership in Vodafone to 12%, aligning with its strategy to expand exposure to global markets, support potential commercial partnerships and generate long-term investment returns.

In 2022, the UAE-based telecom group initially acquired a 9.8% stake in Vodafone for $4.40 billion, marking one of its most significant international investments.

The latest update comes as e& reported strong financial performance for 2025, posting net profit of AED 14.36 billion, reinforcing its position as one of the region’s leading telecom and technology groups.
