Tech Oman Launches Tech Woman Initiative to Foster Gender Diversity in STEM

In observance of International Women’s Day, Tech Oman has officially introduced TechWoman, a specialized initiative designed to empower women within the Sultanate’s rapidly evolving technology sector. The program aims to serve as a comprehensive platform for both Omani nationals and expatriate residents, focusing on highlighting the achievements of women while providing the resources necessary for career growth and leadership.

The initiative is structured to bridge the gender gap in the local tech ecosystem through a variety of engagement channels:

  • Knowledge Sharing: Hosting seminars and workshops led by industry veterans to enhance technical and leadership skills.
  • Networking Ecosystem: Organizing meetups and networking sessions that connect students, aspiring innovators, and established entrepreneurs.
  • Visibility and Recognition: Creating opportunities for women to showcase their contributions to Oman’s digital transformation and innovation landscape.

Tariq al Barwani, President of Tech Oman, emphasized that the launch is a strategic move to ensure that diversity of thought remains a cornerstone of the country’s technological progress. By fostering an inclusive community, TechWoman intends to inspire the next generation of female technologists to lead and innovate. Registration for the program is currently open and free of charge through the official Tech Oman portal.
