Omantel Reports Explosive 87% Profit Surge in 2025 as Digital Pivot Pays Off

Omantel has capped off a record-breaking 2025 fiscal year, posting a group net profit of OMR 371 million—a staggering 87.7% increase compared to the previous year. Group revenue climbed 11.4% to reach OMR 3.41 billion, fueled by the aggressive scaling of its “TechCo” platforms and a robust performance from the Zain Group. This financial milestone was further validated by Fitch Ratings, which recently upgraded the company to investment grade (BBB-) with a stable outlook.

A key driver of this success was the 56.7% jump in ICT and emerging technology revenues, as Omantel successfully transitioned from a traditional telecom provider to a regional technology powerhouse. Domestic fixed broadband subscribers grew by 5.7%, while the company’s M2M (Machine-to-Machine) segment surpassed 1 million connections, reflecting a booming demand for smart city and IoT solutions. Looking toward 2026, the company plans to launch “Otech,” a unified technology platform designed to consolidate its cloud and cybersecurity capabilities, further cementing its role in Oman’s Vision 2040 digital strategy.
