Morocco to Host Inaugural GITEX Future Health Africa Summit in May

Morocco is set to cement its status as a regional leader in medical innovation by hosting the first-ever GITEX Future Health Africa summit from May 4 to May 6, 2026. Organized by KAOUN International under the patronage of Morocco’s Ministry of Health and Social Protection, the event arrives as Africa’s healthcare market is projected to reach $259 billion by 2030.

The three-day summit will serve as a high-stakes intersection for technology, medical expertise, and private investment. In partnership with the Mohammed VI Foundation for Sciences and Health, the event aims to tackle the continent’s most pressing challenges—from financing health sovereignty to integrating AI into aging hospital infrastructures. This initiative aligns with Morocco’s broader national strategy to build an integrated digital health information system and serve as a technological gateway for the African continent.

Summit Roadmap: Three Days of Innovation

The event is structured to move from high-level policy to on-the-ground medical applications:

  • Day 1: Executive Summit – Focused on health sovereignty and financing. Policymakers will discuss universal health coverage and regional coordination using epidemiological data.
  • Day 2: Future Hospitals Forum – Dedicated to infrastructure. Topics include AI integration, advanced diagnostics, and designing resilient, scalable facilities for Africa’s booming population.
  • Day 3: Future Care Forum – Centered on the patient. Discussions will cover the ethics of AI, workforce shortages, and the collaborative relationship between doctors and digital systems.
