Globe Provides Connectivity Support to Overseas Filipino Workers in the Middle East

Globe Telecom has launched communication support measures for overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) affected by the ongoing tensions in the Middle East, aiming to help them remain connected with their families in the Philippines.

In a statement, the Philippine telecom operator said the assistance has been available since March 1 for Filipinos residing across the Middle East.

The company has introduced complimentary roaming support for customers located in several countries, including Israel, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia.

The free roaming package includes 15 minutes of incoming or outgoing calls, 15 SMS messages, and 1GB of mobile data. The bundle is valid for seven days from the time it is credited to the subscriber’s account.

The package is automatically credited to Globe Prepaid, TM, and Postpaid customers detected within the affected areas.

For Filipinos located in Iran and Iraq, Globe has provided additional assistance through prepaid load credits and postpaid bill adjustments to support their communication needs.

Customers receiving the roaming bundle can access services through Globe’s partner networks in the region. These include Pelephone, Cellcom Israel and Partner in Israel; zain BH and Batelco in Bahrain; Ooredoo and STC in Kuwait; Ooredoo (Nawras) and Oman Mobile in Oman; Ooredoo and Vodafone Qatar in Qatar; Etisalat (e&) and DU Telecom in the United Arab Emirates; and STC and zain SA in Saudi Arabia.

Globe also noted that families in the Philippines can reach their loved ones through Globe Stores, which are currently operating as hotline hubs for international calling services.

The telecom operator said it continues to coordinate with the Philippine government to ensure that Filipinos working abroad remain connected and supported during the ongoing regional tensions.
