Egypt Extends Mobile Phone Exemption for Expats to 120 Days

Egypt has extended the mobile phone exemption period for citizens abroad from 90 to 120 days, effective April 1, easing device entry rules for returning expats.

The move supports improved consular services and enhances access to digital platforms such as Digital Egypt and Egypt Post, while simplifying procedures for bringing personal devices into the country.

However, the broader tax exemption on imported phones ended earlier this year, with devices now subject to duties of up to 38.5% of their value.
