VEON Limited, a global digital operator, has officially relocated its group headquarters from Amsterdam to Dubai, as confirmed in a recent press release. This move follows the approval of the board during their meetings in both Amsterdam and Dubai earlier this month, marking the transition of the company’s place of effective management to the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC).
As part of this transition, VEON plans to further scale down operations at its Amsterdam office in the coming months.
With this relocation, VEON becomes the largest Nasdaq-listed company with its group headquarters in Dubai, which is also home to Nasdaq Dubai.
Kaan Terzioglu, Group CEO of VEON, commented, “With the consolidation of our trading on Nasdaq in New York and the completion of our headquarters move to Dubai, we are uniquely positioned to offer global investors opportunities in frontier market growth.”
He further noted, “We look forward to leveraging the benefits of our move to Dubai, including access to world-class talent and increased visibility with Gulf investors.”
VEON operates digital services for 160 million connectivity customers and nearly 110 million monthly active digital users across six markets, including Ukraine, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan.
