Qatar’s computing market is expected to generate $72.67 million (QR265.22 million) in revenue by 2025, according to a report from Statista. The market will experience a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 3.35 percent, with a projected market volume of $82.92 million (QR302.63 million) by 2029.

This growth aligns with Qatar’s ongoing efforts in digital innovation and transformation, diversifying its economy while enhancing the computing and technology industry. The adoption of technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain, and the Internet of Things (IoT) supports Qatar’s goal to digitize 90 percent of its public services. This digital transformation is expected to further stimulate GDP growth, attract foreign investments, and support the nation’s sustainable development goals, all while preparing for a “future-ready” digital ecosystem.

As demand for digital skills in areas like cybersecurity, cloud computing, and software development continues to grow, Qatar is fostering opportunities for individuals with the right educational background, especially in fields like robotics, medical sciences, and sustainable farming.

In addition to these advancements, major tech players like Google Cloud and Microsoft have made significant contributions to Qatar’s digital transformation. Google Cloud began operations in the country two years ago, marking its first-ever entry into the GCC market. Microsoft is also focused on accelerating innovation in line with Qatar’s National Vision 2030, projecting that the tech sector will contribute to a 2.3 percent GDP boost and generate $5 billion in revenue by 2030.

Statista’s data also shows that China remains the largest market in the computing sector, with projected revenues of $20.9 billion in 2025. Qatar’s user base is expected to grow significantly, with 525,300 users projected by 2029. Additionally, the average revenue per user (ARPU) is expected to reach $184.20 (QR675.91) in 2025.
