The 24th Sheikh Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah Informatics Award for 2024 has been announced, with four winners selected from Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and Tunisia. The award recognizes pioneers in digital excellence, with two winners from Kuwait, one from Saudi Arabia, and one from Tunisia.
Bassam Al-Shammari, Chairman of the Higher Organizing Committee of the Award, shared the details with KUNA. The winners from Kuwait were the Sabah Al-Ahmad Center for Giftedness and Creativity (SACGC), which is affiliated with the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Science (KFAS), and Bleems Company, known for designing and managing websites. The Saudi winner was the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing, while Dr. Farouk bin Nouri Kamoun from Tunisia was also honored.
Al-Shammari explained that SACGC is a government agency recognized for its digital innovation and entrepreneurship, while Bleems is a leading Kuwaiti company in the Gulf’s electronic market, specializing in gifts and flowers, with a notable presence in electronic shopping and a multi-channel digital platform. The award was based on objective technical standards, focusing on excellence in digital technologies and their applications. Al-Shammari further emphasized that many agencies and individuals from across Kuwait and the Arab world competed for this prestigious award.
