Zain KSA and Nokia Forge Partnership to Accelerate 5G and AI-Driven Network Solutions

Zain KSA, the leading telecom provider in Saudi Arabia, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Nokia to develop 5G and 5G-Advanced solutions using Cloud RAN and AI RAN technologies. The MoU, signed during LEAP 2025 in Riyadh, focuses on accelerating digital transformation and creating a future-proof infrastructure to meet the increasing demand for open wireless networks.

This collaboration aligns with Zain KSA’s strategy to enhance network efficiency by deploying the latest technologies. Cloud RAN will provide a flexible and scalable infrastructure, improving network performance, while AI RAN will enable automation and real-time data analytics, improving user experience and operational efficiency. This partnership will also support the integration of next-gen technologies like 6G, IoT, and AI into Zain’s infrastructure.

The initiative supports Saudi Vision 2030 by transforming the telecom sector with innovative solutions, contributing to the Kingdom’s digital economy. According to Eng. Mohammad Abdulaziz AlNujaidi, Chief Technology Officer of Zain KSA, the collaboration is a strategic step toward building an intelligent network with enhanced agility using cloud and AI technologies.

Zain KSA and Nokia have already completed a successful live trial of 5G-Advanced Cloud RAN solutions, marking a significant milestone for the Kingdom. This collaboration reaffirms Zain KSA’s leadership in deploying advanced technologies to deliver exceptional digital experiences and drive national development.
