Indra and Katim Forge Strategic Alliance to Provide Cutting-Edge Secure Mobile Solutions for NATO and Government Agencies

Indra has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Katim, a cybersecurity company under the Edge Defence group, to collaborate on the certification and commercialization of advanced mobile solutions designed to protect the communications of government agencies and allied nations, including NATO countries.

The agreement was finalized at Idex, one of the world’s leading defense exhibitions, held in Abu Dhabi from February 17-21. Indra’s role as a key technology partner in the region was highlighted during the event, where it showcased solutions for air defense, electronic defense, command and control systems, anti-drone systems, and border protection. Indra also continues to incorporate cutting-edge technologies like artificial intelligence, cloud computing, advanced communications, and virtual reality to enhance military capabilities.

Under the new partnership, Indra and Katim will work together on certifying mobile phone solutions with NATO Confidential and national-level security standards. Both companies will adapt their solutions to meet the specific needs of each client while ensuring complete control over the entire supply chain to guarantee the highest level of reliability for the end users.

Indra offers COMSec, a secure communications solution providing encrypted voice, instant messaging, and video services on mobile phones through cellular, wireless, or satellite networks worldwide. Katim, in turn, specializes in ultra-secure mobile terminals that use multi-layer encryption for superior protection. Katim’s phones are designed with security in mind from the outset, ensuring they meet the highest security standards.

This strategic collaboration will enable both companies to offer their secure communication systems to various government agencies and institutions, including NATO countries and the Spanish Ministry of Defense.

Indra’s CEO, José Vicente de los Mozos, stated, “This alliance combines our technological expertise to offer the most advanced mobile and encryption solutions, guaranteeing the confidentiality of communications. In an era where threats are increasingly complex, partnerships like this are essential to stay ahead of emerging risks.”

Katim’s CEO, Didier Pagnoux, added, “This partnership with Indra marks a significant step in providing innovative secure communication solutions to Spanish and NATO markets, combining our cybersecurity expertise with Indra’s extensive experience in European defense to support the evolving security needs of allied nations.”
