The Information and Communications Technology Association of Jordan (Int@j) reported significant growth in internet and social media usage in Jordan since the beginning of 2025. According to the annual DataReportal report, Jordan now has 10.7 million internet users, representing 92.5% of the total population.
Social media usage has also surged, with 6.45 million users, making up 55.7% of the population. This growth reflects a 1.1% annual increase, adding 70,000 new users. YouTube remains the dominant platform, with a user base of 6.45 million. Facebook follows closely with 5.45 million users, showing a 2.8% growth with an increase of 150,000 users.
Instagram experienced a notable rise, growing by 9.5% to 4.05 million users, while Snapchat saw a more substantial 18.4% growth, reaching 4.1 million users. However, TikTok witnessed a decline, losing 376,000 users, dropping by 14.1%. Messenger and X (formerly Twitter) also saw reductions in their user bases, with Messenger dropping by 2.6% and X seeing a 16% decline.
On a positive note, LinkedIn experienced strong performance, gaining 400,000 new users in 2024 to reach 2 million, a 25% increase. The platform now has a penetration rate of 27.2% among adults and 18.7% among internet users.
Int@j emphasized that the rapid expansion of digital usage in Jordan highlights the country’s growing adoption of modern technology. It also underscores the need to improve digital infrastructure and invest in digital transformation to support the national digital economy.
