Moroccan funding institution TAMWILCOM has formed a strategic partnership with Flat6Labs, a prominent startup accelerator in the MENA region, to launch a new acceleration program aimed at supporting innovative Moroccan startups. The partnership was announced on Monday during GITEX Africa 2025 in Marrakech on April 14.
The program will focus on high-potential sectors such as AgriTech, FinTech, Industry 4.0, CleanTech, Healthcare, Big Data, and Artificial Intelligence. This collaboration builds on TAMWILCOM’s December 2023 agreement with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) to enhance acceleration support mechanisms for emerging tech companies in Morocco.
“We remain committed to supporting Moroccan startups and tech companies,” said Hicham Zanati Serghini, Director General of TAMWILCOM. “Flat6Labs’ expertise will play a crucial role in advancing the entrepreneurial journey, particularly in accelerating innovative projects, which is key to successful fundraising.”
The initiative aims to streamline venture capital fundraising for participating startups by offering comprehensive support from Flat6Labs and providing financing options to make these startups investment-ready. Flat6Labs will design and implement a program focused on preparing these startups for funding opportunities.
“The goals of this program align perfectly with our mission: unlocking the potential of high-impact startups by equipping them with the tools they need to grow, structure their operations, and secure funding for both national and international expansion,” said Yehia Houry, Chief Programs Officer at Flat6Labs.
David Tinel, IFC Regional Representative for the Maghreb, highlighted the broader impact of the partnership, stating, “This collaboration will strengthen financing options for Moroccan startups, particularly during the critical early stages, fostering technological innovation in Morocco.”
The partnership reflects the shared commitment of both TAMWILCOM and Flat6Labs to build a more structured, competitive, and innovation-driven entrepreneurial ecosystem in Morocco. This initiative aligns with Morocco’s broader ambitions to become a hub for technological innovation in North Africa, driving sustainable and inclusive growth while creating quality job opportunities through private sector development.
