The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has launched a Temporary Mobile Registration System to assist overseas Pakistanis and foreign nationals visiting the country. This new system allows visitors to register their mobile devices for up to 120 days during their stay in Pakistan, ensuring seamless connectivity throughout their visit.
The registration process is completely free and fully digital, offering travelers an easy way to stay connected without any additional duties, fees, or taxes. Visitors can register their devices through the official Device Registration System (DRS) portal, which streamlines the process and ensures convenience for users.
The steps to register are straightforward:
- Visit the PTA website and click on the Sign-Up option.
- Select the purpose and enter your details along with a password.
- Submit the form and verify your account via email or SMS.
- Log in to the portal and agree to the terms and conditions.
- Click on ‘Temporary Registration for Overseas Pakistanis/Foreign Nationals’.
- Enter your arrival and departure dates along with your CNIC or passport number.
This system guarantees continuous mobile connectivity, enabling visitors to access essential services like family communication, maps, and emergency services without interruption. The PTA’s initiative aims to enhance digital services and improve the overall travel experience for visitors to Pakistan.
This move is part of Pakistan’s broader digital transformation plans, which seek to provide efficient and inclusive telecom services for all visitors, aligning with the country’s commitment to innovation and accessibility in its telecom sector.
