The “Muharrik” platform, an innovative Omani entrepreneurial venture, harnesses augmented reality (AR) technology to transform digital learning through interactive 3D models, significantly enhancing students’ academic outcomes. Founder Ziyad Salim Al Hinai shared with Oman News Agency that the idea was born from his personal academic challenges while studying in the U.S., fueling his passion to create engaging educational tools.
By converting abstract concepts into vivid, three-dimensional visuals, Muharrik accelerates comprehension and retention, demonstrated by a 54% improvement in academic achievement among early-grade students exposed to advanced-grade content. The platform’s AR applications extend beyond education into museums, engineering, and healthcare, including international collaborations to train medical staff.
Al Hinai acknowledged the vital support of the Oman Technology Fund, which provided funding, mentorship, and training, empowering the startup’s growth. Muharrik is finalizing a partnership with Oman’s Ministry of Education to integrate AR technology in schools and plans to expand across Arab and global markets by exporting digital educational content.
Recognized internationally with awards from UNICEF and the Generation Unlimited initiative, Muharrik’s success has attracted its first investor and strengthened its mission to redefine education through cutting-edge technology.
