DG Financial Technology and au Financial Service Launch NESTA, Japan’s Next-Generation Secure Payment Platform

DG Financial Technology, Inc. (DGFT), in partnership with au Financial Service—a key member of the KDDI Group—has introduced NESTA, a cutting-edge payment platform designed to meet Japan’s highest security standards while offering flexible, scalable infrastructure for future payment innovations.

Built on DGFT’s flagship VeriTrans4G multi-payment system, NESTA supports over 40 payment methods including credit cards, QR payments, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. It features full tokenization, ensuring that no credit card data is stored or transmitted during transactions, drastically reducing data breach risks. The platform is fully compliant with PCI DSS standards and incorporates 24/7 system monitoring with real-time data synchronization between two geographically distinct data centers, ensuring zero downtime and high operational continuity.

NESTA aligns with KDDI Group’s Satellite Growth Strategy focusing on 5G, data-driven innovation, and generative AI, accelerating the Group’s digital transformation and cashless payment initiatives. With over 10.2 million au PAY Card holders, au Financial Service plays a central role in this collaboration.

The first deployment of NESTA will be within KDDI’s payment processing ecosystem, supporting au and UQ mobile services. This rollout aims to enhance security, reduce information leakage risks, and simplify operational complexity, further driving Japan’s cashless economy. Plans are underway to expand NESTA’s reach to additional KDDI services and external corporate clients.
