Vodafone Qatar has selected Nokia to lead a comprehensive network modernization initiative aimed at enhancing 5G coverage, boosting reliability, and expanding service capabilities across the country. The partnership involves upgrading Vodafone Qatar’s core network, expanding 5G capacity, and enhancing broadband infrastructure to meet rising demand for high-speed connectivity and operational efficiency.
Nokia will deploy its end-to-end technology solutions, including its multi-cloud core software portfolio—Packet Core, Converged Charging, and Networks Data Analytics Function—to support Vodafone Qatar’s migration to a cloud-native architecture. These solutions will enable automation, scalability, and agility within the core network. The deployment also features Nokia’s Digital Operations software for end-to-end orchestration, 5G slicing automation, and AI-driven assurance, enhancing service delivery and network resilience.
Sheikh Hamad Abdulla Jassim Al-Thani, CEO of Vodafone Qatar, emphasized the company’s commitment to digital transformation aligned with Qatar National Vision 2030. He highlighted the collaboration’s role in building a smarter, secure network capable of supporting everything from personalized home Wi-Fi to advanced enterprise technologies.
Raghav Sahgal, President of Cloud and Network Services at Nokia, praised the partnership’s depth and the advanced automation capabilities that will deliver greater network agility and value extraction for Vodafone Qatar.
