The Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with DXC Technology Egypt to foster collaboration in the software industry. This partnership aims to leverage ITIDA’s Software Engineering Competence Center (SECC) to enhance training, consultancy, assessment, and certification services, aligning with ITIDA’s vision to elevate Egypt’s software industry to a globally competitive level.
The MoU seeks to equip the workforce with advanced skills and internationally recognized certifications, enhancing the quality and efficiency of operations at global delivery centers. This collaboration aims to boost Egypt’s software exports significantly.
ITIDA’s CEO, Engineer Ahmed ElZaher, stated that the partnership with DXC Technology aims to create a comprehensive support system for software companies, enhancing their competitiveness and capabilities for international market penetration. Established in 2001, SECC offers a wide range of services, including consulting and appraisal based on international standards.
Engineer Neveen Galal, Managing Director of DXC Technology Egypt, emphasized the cooperation with ITIDA to provide trained talent for exporting Egyptian software projects globally. She affirmed DXC’s commitment to leveraging exceptional skills in software development and testing to meet market demands.
Egypt’s outsourcing services sector recorded a 54.2% growth rate, with digital exports increasing from USD 4.9 billion in 2022 to USD 6.2 billion in 2023. Egypt’s young and skilled workforce, with over 300,000 ICT professionals and multilingual capabilities, strengthens its position as a premier IT/BPO delivery hub.
