Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja and Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan held a high-level meeting to develop collaborative strategies aimed at strengthening Pakistan’s e-commerce sector.
The ministries agreed to establish a joint working group dedicated to aligning efforts and formulating targeted policies to support the growth of digital trade.
Both ministers highlighted the importance of coordinated, long-term initiatives and inclusive stakeholder consultations to drive effective e-commerce reforms.
They reaffirmed the government’s commitment to digital transformation by emphasizing the expansion of digital trade infrastructure, adoption of modern technologies, and promotion of innovation, recognizing e-commerce as a vital engine for economic growth and a national priority.
The joint initiative will focus on improving regulatory frameworks, enhancing digital connectivity, and unlocking new opportunities for entrepreneurs, SMEs, and consumers across Pakistan’s rapidly evolving digital marketplace.
