Naver to Build Next-Generation AI Data Center in Morocco with NVIDIA and Partners

Naver has announced plans to establish a cutting-edge AI data center in Morocco through a partnership with NVIDIA, AI infrastructure firm Nexus Core Systems, and investment company Lloyd Capital. The consortium aims to build a 500-megawatt facility powered entirely by renewable energy, providing sovereign AI computing services across the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region.

Morocco’s strategic location—just 15 kilometers from Europe and connected by multiple submarine optical cables—makes it an ideal hub for this initiative. Naver Cloud will operate the platform, collaborating with Nexus Core Systems and Lloyd Capital to deliver integrated AI services and applications based on advanced cloud infrastructure.

To comply with strict data sovereignty rules, Naver will develop a sovereign cloud and AI framework ensuring all data storage, processing, and management take place entirely within Morocco.

The project’s first phase kicks off in Q4 2025, with construction of a 40-megawatt AI supercomputing facility featuring NVIDIA’s latest Blackwell (GB200) GPUs, similar to those recently deployed in Armenia. The data center will scale up to 500 megawatts over time.

A strategic renewable energy agreement with UAE-based TAQA ensures a reliable, sustainable power supply for the facility, supporting the project’s long-term operational and environmental goals.
