Doha, Qatar: Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB), a leader in digital banking, has officially launched the QIB Junior App, Qatar’s first digital banking and financial education platform designed for children and teenagers aged 8 to 17. This pioneering app empowers young users to confidently manage their finances while allowing parents to guide and supervise their financial journey.
Built with a mobile- and tablet-first approach, the QIB Junior App combines a prepaid Visa card that supports online payments, contactless tap-and-pay at stores, and integration with digital wallets such as Apple Wallet, Google Wallet, and Samsung Wallet. The app features a dedicated “savings pot” to encourage savings habits by enabling juniors to transfer funds between their card and savings.
The app offers engaging features where children can earn rewards by completing tasks set by their parents, and access exclusive deals and discounts tailored to their age group. Early adopters will also receive special gift vouchers.
Parents manage the account setup and controls via the main QIB Mobile App, including issuing prepaid cards, setting allowances, loading funds, assigning tasks, monitoring spending, controlling app and card access, and even locating their child’s device. This ensures financial independence for children within a secure and supervised environment.
Designed to grow with users, QIB Junior automatically transitions to QIB’s Bedaya student account when users turn 18, providing seamless continuity in their financial journey.

QIB Junior is now available to existing QIB customers. Parents can activate the service via the QIB Mobile App on the App Store, Google Play, and Huawei AppGallery.
