Huawei has taken a major step to expand digital education accessibility in Egypt by embedding its AI courses into the academic curricula of three leading universities. Through strategic Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) signed with Al-Azhar University, the Egyptian-Russian University, and 6th of October University during the Huawei Instructors Forum 2025, Huawei officially launched the “Huawei AI Program.” This initiative provides over 25,000 students with access to world-class AI learning via the Huawei Talent platform.
The MoUs were signed by key representatives including Eng. Asmaa Serag, Director of Huawei Academies Egypt; Professor Dr. Mohamed Farag, University President’s Consultant for Digital Transformation at Al-Azhar University; Professor Dr. Hossam ElBahary, Head of Information Systems and Network Technology at October 6 University; and Professor Dr. Tamer Saleh, Associate Professor at the Egyptian Russian University.
The AI Program will be delivered to more than 10,000 students at Al-Azhar University, 10,000 at the Egyptian Russian University, and 5,000 at 6th of October University. Designed to be inclusive and engaging, the course features seven dynamic sessions in animated format that introduce the fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence in an accessible way—requiring no prior technical knowledge.
Available fully online, free of charge, and offered in both English and Arabic, the program is open to everyone regardless of age, background, or profession, allowing anytime, anywhere access with a simple free account.
Mr. Robert Parua, Education Programme Specialist at UNESCO Regional Office Cairo, emphasized the importance of such initiatives: “Digital transformation in education is not just about technology—it’s about people. Our partnership with Huawei reflects a shared vision to empower educators, upskill youth, and foster inclusive, innovative learning ecosystems, ensuring no one is left behind.”
