Kuwait City, Kuwait – Kuwait has officially launched 5G Advanced technology, marking a major step in the country’s digital transformation and setting a new benchmark for speed, connectivity, and smart infrastructure.
Knetco, a leading telecom and digital infrastructure provider and an official Ministry of Communications (MOC) contractor, was appointed as the main implementor for Huawei’s 5G Advanced rollout. The project aligns with Kuwait Vision 2035 and positions the nation as a frontrunner in building an intelligent, fully connected society.
5G Advanced delivers speeds up to ten times faster than existing 5G, ultra-low latency, and unprecedented connectivity capacity. These capabilities will power next-generation applications across smart cities, autonomous systems, AI-driven industries, and advanced digital services in both government and private sectors.
Working on an accelerated timeline, Knetco mobilized top-tier technical talent and leveraged its deep expertise to deliver the project across all three mobile operators in Kuwait. The company achieved critical milestones on schedule without compromising on safety or quality.
“The arrival of 5G Advanced will transform how Kuwait communicates, operates, and innovates,” said Khaled Samy Hall, CEO of Knetco. “Our partnership with Huawei ensures that this cutting-edge technology delivers lasting benefits to every sector, from government services to individual consumers.”
Huawei praised Knetco’s performance under a highly demanding schedule. “Knetco was our first choice for this landmark deployment,” said Jayson Fu, Procurement Director, Huawei Kuwait. “Their strong knowledge of the Kuwait telecom market and ability to deliver in line with requirements and global standards were instrumental to the project’s success.”
Beyond enhanced connectivity, 5G Advanced will accelerate innovation in emerging technologies such as drone systems, Li-Fi communication, advanced security operations, and smart mobility solutions. It also lays the groundwork for future 6G readiness while supporting Kuwait’s vision for a sustainable and digitally enabled economy.
Since 1989, Knetco (Kuwait Network Electronic Technology Company W.L.L.) has been building Kuwait’s digital backbone, delivering secure and reliable telecom systems, smart infrastructure, and digital solutions across the GCC.
