Egyptian startup Luciq (formerly Instabug) has introduced a groundbreaking approach to mobile app maintenance, leveraging agentic artificial intelligence (AI) to transform how applications are monitored, diagnosed, and repaired. Founded in 2016 and dual-headquartered in San Francisco and Cairo, Luciq is led by CEO Omar Gabr.
The company is pioneering what it calls “Agentic Mobile Observability.” Unlike traditional monitoring tools that merely flag issues, Luciq’s AI agents proactively detect, diagnose, fix, and validate problems in production. “It’s not just monitoring anymore – it’s mobile observability that acts on your behalf,” said Gabr.
Agentic AI differs from reactive or generative AI in that it learns, reasons, plans, and acts autonomously to achieve defined goals. In Luciq’s system, the AI identifies flaws, filters out irrelevant alerts, prioritizes incidents based on business impact, and applies fixes before end-users are affected.
This proactive approach addresses one of the biggest pain points in mobile applications—user intolerance for crashes or performance issues. Even a single disruption can lead to lost revenue, declining user trust, and migration to competitors. Luciq’s platform promises to strengthen app resilience, improve user experience, and give businesses a competitive edge in a market where stability is critical.
