The University of Continuing Formation (UFC) in Didouche Mourad has inaugurated the National Week for Digital Education (September 23–30, 2025), under the theme “Digital Education is a Gain for the University of Algeria.” The event underscores Algeria’s commitment to embedding digital transformation in higher education.
The opening ceremony welcomed representatives from national institutions, including the National People’s Council, the Supreme Council of the Arabic Language, the Supreme Governorate of Amazighia, and the National Authority for Transparency and Anti-Corruption, alongside university leaders, researchers, and new students.
UFC Director Professor Yahya Jafri highlighted digital transformation as a strategic priority, noting progress in integrated learning, digital content creation, and faculty training. The university has trained more than 800 professors in media technologies, developed 683 online lessons (including 120 in English), and launched 68 digital platforms to enhance student learning and foster academic partnerships.
The first day included scientific presentations on Algeria’s online documentation system, visual distance learning, and digital resources for the Arabic language. Other sessions highlighted the university’s progress in building national digital platforms and libraries.
The week also featured a blood donation campaign by the National Blood Agency and exhibitions from the National Council of University Publications, the Supreme Council of the Arabic Language, and the university’s media units. A key milestone was the signing of a cooperation agreement between UFC and the Supreme Council of the Arabic Language, granting students access to a digital library of over 12,000 books.
By hosting this initiative, UFC reaffirmed its role as a pioneer in distance learning and digital innovation, emphasizing both academic excellence and community engagement. The program positions UFC as a key driver of Algeria’s digital education ecosystem and a model citizen university.
