Zain Empowers Over 500 Girls and Young Women Through Academy X Program

Kuwait — Zain has announced the successful completion of the second edition of its Academy X program, held in strategic partnership with CODED Academy, aimed at equipping girls and young women with critical digital and innovation skills. The initiative continues Zain’s mission to empower women in technology and strengthen Kuwait’s position as a growing hub for digital talent.

This year’s program trained over 500 female students, bringing total participation to more than 800 since its launch two years ago. The curriculum featured both foundational and advanced tracks covering programming, web and app development, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, data analysis, design, and user experience, alongside modules in presentation and teamwork.

Adopting a project-based learning approach, participants developed over 100 tech projects, with 79 showcased at the closing ceremony, which saw more than 9,000 public votes cast for standout solutions. The projects tackled challenges in education, healthcare, sustainability, and public services, highlighting the program’s real-world community impact.

Through Academy X, Zain and CODED strengthened an end-to-end partnership ecosystem, linking training, mentorship, incubation, and competition. The initiative not only builds digital literacy but also helps students transition into the job market with confidence by turning their ideas into viable prototypes supported by industry mentors.

Zain reaffirmed its commitment to investing in high-quality digital empowerment programs, particularly those focused on girls and women, and announced plans to expand future editions through deeper collaborations with public and private sector partners.

The company also recently wrapped up the fourth season of the Kuwait Codes program, graduating 1,000 students this year and 4,500 in total — a milestone that reinforces Zain’s dedication to developing Kuwait’s next generation of tech innovators and entrepreneurs.
