Ericsson Partners with e& Egypt to Enhance ICT Infrastructure and Prepare for 5G Rollout

Ericsson has announced a strategic partnership with e& Egypt, marking a significant advancement in ICT infrastructure within Egypt and the broader region. This collaboration will see the integration of Ericsson’s high-performing 20-port antennas from the Ericsson Antenna System (EAS) into e& Egypt’s network. These advanced antennas will support high-order site sharing for all operators on e& Egypt’s infrastructure, optimizing the network for the anticipated 5G rollout and establishing a robust ecosystem for future telecommunications.

Ericsson’s EAS antennas, designed to meet the demands of modern networks, will allow multiple frequencies and technologies to operate on a single radio site, enhancing network performance, speed, and connectivity for users across Egypt. This partnership aligns with e& Egypt’s commitment to the Sustainable Development Strategy (SDS): Egypt Vision 2030, aiming to expand 4G capabilities and prepare the groundwork for 5G.

Hossam Abdelkader, Networks Director at e& Egypt, emphasized the company’s dedication to supporting communities and unlocking new opportunities for consumers and businesses in Egypt through this partnership with Ericsson.

Ericsson’s presence in Egypt is longstanding, with recent collaborations including a deal with Vodafone Egypt to deploy Ericsson’s triple-band radio and a multi-year agreement with Orange Egypt to accelerate digital transformation.
