The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology has launched registration for the Hadatha Sectorial Hackathon for the telecommunications sector, a nationwide initiative aimed at boosting cybersecurity capabilities and supporting Oman’s digital transformation. The event targets cybersecurity professionals, innovators, entrepreneurs, and startups working to enhance data protection and reinforce digital infrastructure.
The hackathon forms part of a broader national effort to advance cyber resilience across critical sectors by attracting technical expertise and fostering practical innovation. Participants will collaborate to develop scalable cybersecurity solutions that strengthen reliance on local technologies and contribute to Oman’s digital economy.
According to the ministry, the hackathon will act as an innovation hub—encouraging idea exchange, rapid prototyping, and the creation of cyber-focused products and services. It also provides a platform for Omani talent to showcase their abilities and help shape a more secure national cyber ecosystem.
To maintain professional standards, teams must consist of two to four members and commit to attending the full 12-hour programme, which includes intensive working sessions. Interested participants can register online through the ministry’s portal.
