Jordan’s Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship has signed a new partnership with OpenAI to accelerate the development of Siraj, the nation’s AI-powered educational assistant designed by Jordanian experts to support students and teachers with interactive, curriculum-aligned learning. The collaboration builds on a successful pilot phase led by the National Council for Future Technology under the vision of HRH Crown Prince Hussein.
Through this partnership, Siraj will gain enhanced generative-AI capabilities to support deeper understanding, analysis, and creativity across public schools. Teachers and supervisors will also receive tailored tools to enrich classroom engagement and share expertise within a unified digital learning ecosystem.
The agreement reflects a shared commitment to high standards of data protection, cybersecurity, and service reliability. It includes strict governance frameworks and SLAs, along with improved monitoring and data insights to strengthen decision-making within Jordan’s education sector.
During its pilot phase, Siraj has already seen strong adoption—over 150,000 teachers and students have engaged with the platform, generating more than 900,000 interactions. Students receive accurate, curriculum-aligned responses with direct references to official textbooks, demonstrating the system’s potential to reshape digital learning nationwide.
The collaboration also aligns Jordan with global trends, as institutions worldwide—including Harvard University and Oxford University—embrace tools such as ChatGPT Edu and study-mode learning interfaces.
