Huawei, the Chinese technology giant, announced a series of AI initiatives on Monday aimed at advancing Saudi Arabia’s digital transformation as part of the country’s Vision 2030. These initiatives will introduce cutting-edge AI technologies, including ubiquitous computing, cost-effective solutions, enhanced data security, and improved service experiences through edge cloud computing, all to support Saudi Arabia’s economic diversification.
Speaking at the Huawei Cloud Summit Saudi Arabia 2024 in Riyadh, Alan Qi, president of Huawei Cloud Middle East and Central Asia, highlighted that Huawei’s cloud services are already serving over 300 customers in Saudi Arabia, including government ministries, leading telecom carriers, media companies, and numerous Chinese businesses operating in the Kingdom.
Qi also noted that Huawei’s public cloud business revenue in Saudi Arabia saw a tenfold increase in 2023, reflecting the growing demand for advanced digital solutions in the region.
The summit, attended by over 600 participants, showcased Huawei’s innovative ecosystem resources and the latest advancements in AI technologies, particularly in AI-ready model training and inference.
