Nepal Telecom now lets you update KYC online

Nepal Telecom (NTC) has introduced an online KYC (Know Your Customer) update facility for GSM prepaid SIM users, allowing customers to update personal details digitally instead of completing paper forms. The service is currently in a test phase and is being piloted at NTC’s Sundhara office.

The test programme was inaugurated jointly by NTC Chief Commercial Officer Ganga Sagar Matanchhe and Bagmati Province’s Provincial Directorate Kathmandu Director Indal Yadav. NTC officials said the initiative is aimed at making services more customer-friendly, improving productivity, supporting paperless workflows, and accelerating data update tasks as part of the company’s broader digital transformation.

While the process is now digital, customers still need to visit the service centre. The update is completed by scanning a QR code at the customer service desk, entering the updated information online, and then having NTC verify the KYC details for service continuity.

NTC said the Sundhara rollout is a pilot, and once the test phase is successful, the service will be expanded to other offices in Kathmandu and later beyond the valley. The facility is currently available only for NTC’s GSM prepaid users.
