Data Vault Pakistan has signed a strategic partnership with US-based Rafay Systems to enhance Pakistan’s first sovereign AI cloud, targeting telecom operators, banks, cloud providers, and large enterprises seeking to deploy artificial intelligence at scale while keeping sensitive workloads within national borders.
The partnership is positioned as a catalyst for AI innovation across Pakistan, aiming to remove barriers that slow experimentation and production deployment. By integrating GPU computing and Kubernetes into a governed, self-service platform, Data Vault enables organisations to move faster from pilot projects to full-scale production.
The initiative is designed to empower local startups, universities, enterprises, and service providers to build and deploy AI services entirely within Pakistan. Founder and CEO Mehwish Salman Ali said the goal is to make sovereign AI consumption as seamless as any hyperscale cloud, while ensuring sensitive data never leaves the country.
The platform is intended to deliver a hyperscale-like experience comparable to Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud, offering self-service access for developers and data science teams, rapid provisioning, and managed operations—without cross-border data movement.
Key outcomes include faster time-to-market for AI use cases in banking, telecommunications, healthcare, manufacturing, and government. The platform also lowers friction for startups and researchers by providing access to GPU capacity alongside modern MLOps and Kubernetes environments.
Built on NVIDIA-accelerated infrastructure, Data Vault’s sovereign AI cloud uses Rafay’s orchestration layer to enable cloud-style consumption and governance. Rafay CEO Haseeb Budhani said organisations want rapid AI outcomes without sacrificing security or control.
The joint offering will include GPU-as-a-Service and AI-as-a-Service for training, fine-tuning, and inference, along with managed Kubernetes, security enforcement, observability, and self-service access with built-in governance. The model also enables infrastructure providers to monetise AI resources through multi-tenant delivery.
