RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s national carrier Saudia, in collaboration with the Saudi Tourism Authority (STA), helped bring approximately 27 million tourists and visitors from 24 countries to the Kingdom in 2025 through Saudia-operated flights.
The announcement was made during the unveiling of a Saudia aircraft featuring the “Spirit of Saudi” logo at Saudia Technic’s maintenance, repair and overhaul village in Jeddah.
Khaled Tash, Group Chief Marketing Officer of Saudia, said the partnership with the STA will play a critical role in achieving the Kingdom’s target of attracting 150 million tourists by 2030, following the successful achievement of the initial milestone in 2023.
The branded aircraft launch is part of a broader strategic partnership aimed at strengthening Saudi Arabia’s position as a global tourism destination. During 2026, the aircraft will operate across 25 international destinations, serving as a flying showcase of Saudi hospitality while supporting Vision 2030 objectives.
Tash said the aircraft selected for the initiative is the Boeing B787-9, optimized for long-haul routes, including Jeddah–Washington and key destinations across East Asia and China.
Abdullah Al-Dakhil, official spokesperson for the STA, highlighted air connectivity as a foundational pillar of tourism growth. He noted that the partnership transforms the aircraft into a creative promotional platform, allowing travelers to experience authentic Saudi hospitality even before arrival, while showcasing the Kingdom’s diverse destinations, seasons, and global events.
Saudi Arabia continues to invest heavily under Vision 2030 to diversify its economy, enhance connectivity, and strengthen its role in global aviation. By 2030, the Kingdom aims to serve 330 million passengers across more than 250 destinations and transport 4.5 million tonnes of air cargo.
