SLB Awarded Multi-Year Contracts to Support Oman’s Energy Development

HOUSTON — January 28, 2026

SLB has secured two five-year contracts from Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) to supply wellheads and artificial lift technologies for operations in Block-6, Oman’s largest oil and gas concession. The awards strengthen SLB’s long-term partnership with PDO while advancing Oman’s in-country value (ICV) objectives.

Under the agreements, SLB will deliver low-pressure, high-pressure, and thermal wellheads, alongside electric submersible pumps (ESPs) and progressive cavity pumps (PCPs). These solutions are designed to enhance recovery rates and extend the productive life of Block-6 assets.

A central component of the programme is the expansion of local manufacturing. Wellheads will be produced at SLB’s Rusayl production centre, while ESPs will be assembled at its Nizwa assembly, repair, and testing facility, supporting hundreds of Omani jobs. Within six months of contract commencement, SLB will introduce made-in-Oman gate valve production.

Jesus Lamas, President for the Middle East and North Africa at SLB, said the awards reflect a deep commitment to Oman’s energy future and to building local industrial capability. He noted that increasing in-country production and investing in Omani talent ensures PDO’s strategic goals are met through sustainable, locally driven approaches.

SLB will deploy advanced technologies including the 15k SOLIDrill modular compact wellhead system, ESP surveillance solutions, and ESP permanent magnet motors, which reduce power consumption and improve operational efficiency while supporting sustainability goals.
