Leadership forum launched to drive national digital transformation

Oman has launched a four-month Leadership Forum for Future Readiness to strengthen government preparedness for digital transformation in line with Oman Vision 2040.

Inaugurated in Muscat, the forum is part of the national Artaqaa (Ascent) programme and is organised by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology (MTCIT) in partnership with the Royal Academy of Management, the University of Technology and Applied Sciences, and the Oman Society for Human Resource Management.

The initiative brings together senior officials and decision-makers for structured dialogues on digital transformation, emerging technologies, institutional performance, and risk management. The goal is to align policy decisions with future needs and foster a unified, coordinated government approach.

H E Dr Ali bin Amer al Shidhani, Undersecretary for Communications and Information Technology at MTCIT and Chairman of the Technical Committee of the national digital transformation programme Tahawul, said digital transformation has become a strategic priority led by senior leadership rather than a peripheral activity.

The programme includes high-level sessions, panel discussions, case studies, and interactive simulations led by international experts, aimed at building a shared understanding of advanced technologies and enhancing coordination across government entities.

Officials noted that the forum will help accelerate the impact of digital transformation by positioning institutional readiness as a core capability for Oman’s future.
