Qatar prioritises digital and advanced technologies to strengthen legal work

Qatar is accelerating the use of digital and advanced technologies to improve the efficiency of legal and legislative processes as part of its transition toward a knowledge-based economy, according to Minister of Justice and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs HE Ibrahim bin Ali bin Issa Al Hassan Al Mohannadi.

Speaking at the Third Web Summit Qatar 2026, the minister said the country is placing strong emphasis on leveraging AI and digital platforms to modernise how government legislation is prepared and reviewed.

He highlighted the Smart Legislative Advisor initiative launched by the Council of Ministers Secretariat General, alongside an interactive electronic platform designed to streamline the procedures for drafting government legislation. These tools use AI to assist in preparing, reviewing, and analysing legal texts, significantly improving accuracy and quality while reducing legal review time by up to sevenfold.
